  My 1996 sound score of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream gave me the opportunity to compose 1950's music in the style of Lena Horne. Many years later my friend Matt Jansen brought a group of female vocalists into our sound studio from Purdue Musical Organizations and they recorded the vocals for my song and orchestration of "Over Hill, Over Dale."

  Most of the orchestration on this orchestration would have been recorded using Digidesign's Sample Cell Digital Sampling System, and Kurzweil's K1200 Sample player. Even in 1996 the tools to create realistic orchestra sounds were remarkably mature.
